Local Stillwater area businesses gathered at our facility for the Third Annual “Let’s Give Hunger the Business” B2B Meal Packing Challenge event the first week of May this year. And it was AWESOME! In just two days, 29 different groups packed over 54,000 meals. And boy-oh-boy was it fun.
We had a lot of laughs and made a ton of new friends – all while engaging in truly meaningful service. As food costs continue to rise, our meals are needed more than ever, and together we sure delivered! The meals were delivered to local food shelves and to refugee organizations to help with the crisis in Eastern Europe.
Our B2B Meal Packing Challenge events are designed specifically for employees and coworkers. Teams from area businesses and organizations participate in one-hour sessions to pack meals. And yes, it’s competitive! The packing sessions are timed, and the teams compete for the most meals packed!
With busy hands, big (sparkling) smiles, and full hearts, this year’s winner was Southill Dental. They packed a whopping 2,448 meals, edging out GT Financial by only 30 meals. Amazing!
As part of this event, we had teams from the Stillwater Police Department and Stillwater Fire Department compete separately in a friendly “Battle Of The Badges” competition. We had the honor of presenting the “Battle of the Badges” meal-packing trophy to the Stillwater Police Department. Members of the Stillwater Police Department packed 2,400 meals! The Stillwater Fire Department has already reissued its challenge for 2023!
But the real winners are the individuals and families struggling to put tasty and healthy food on their tables.
