Meal-Packing Event For Area Businesses Announced For April 8th
Meals From The Heart is pleased to announce the Second Annual Stillwater B2B Meal-Packing Challenge to be held at the National Guard Armory – Stillwater on April 8, 2020.
Businesses and organizations from Stillwater and the surrounding area will compete in 30-minute meal-packing sessions to enjoy some friendly competition while packing meals to help stock local food shelves.
Last year, Meals From The Heart hosted 36 teams from Stillwater area businesses and organizations for the inaugural event. The event was fun and lively as the sessions went on throughout the day. In all, 78,000 meals were packed and distributed to local families. Southill Dental Group was the B2B Challenge Champion with 2,742 meals packed.
During the event, Meals From The Heart also created a special “event inside the event” for local law enforcement and firefighters called the Battle of the Badges. Teams representing Stillwater PD, Stillwater FD, Washington County Sheriffs, and the Stillwater National Guard MP Unit competed with the Stillwater FD taking home the Battle of the Badges trophy for most meals packed.
“Every day, about 1,200,000 of our neighbors here in Minnesota and Wisconsin struggle with food insecurity,” stated Tom Thiets, founder and president of Meals From The Heart. “Participation in this event helps to deliver hope to families right here in the Valley.”
“And it’s a ton of fun!” Thiets added.
