One of the most significant things that set Meals From The Heart apart from other meal-packing organizations is, of course, our food. Since our meals go directly to local food shelves, then to dining tables throughout our community, we’ve spent considerable time, with the help of a chef, developing recipes that taste great. We know we succeeded when both our food shelf partners and their customers frequently request more of our meals!
Speaking of great tasting meals, how about a great tasting meal that takes less time and fuss? Instant Pots, or “Insta-Pots,” have become a popular appliance in many kitchens. We heard, through the grapevine, that folks were preparing our meals with this trendy appliance, so we thought we’d give it a try.
It turns out that our meals turn out great when prepared in an Instant Pot, so we thought we’d share our fast and easy recipe. We hope you like this recipe for our Veggies & Rice.
Ingredients:
Instructions:
Combine package with 4 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, olive oil, or butter. Give it a good stir and seal the top. Use the “Rice” setting on your Instant Pot – this usually takes about 14 minutes. When the time is up, allow the pot to work a natural release for 10 minutes. Open using the manual release.
Stir, fluff with a fork, serve, and enjoy!.
