Feed The Need Luncheon
We hosted our Meals From The Heart “FEED THE NEED” luncheon in December at the Lake Elmo Event Center. It was nice to bring this event back after a two-year break. And it was a huge success. Our presenter was famed KARE11 storyteller Boyd Ruppert. During his nearly 40-year career in TV news, Boyd has become widely known for his video storyteller and teacher work. He was a genuinely engaging and entertaining presenter and shared some of his favorite tales.
Boyd imparted so many great lines and stories that it is hard to pull out just one. This line, however, really hit home. He said, “There seems to be a lot of division in the world. And we need to pause and recognize the good in each other, to help each other. The mission of Meals From The Heart is focused on serving our neighbors – on doing good.”
Before introducing Boyd, Tom took a few minutes on stage to talk about the need for healthy food in our communities and the work of Meals From The Heart. Click here to look at the slides from the Meals From The Heart presentation.
Thanks to all who took an hour out of the busy holiday season to join us.
And special thanks (and congratulations) to Boyd Huppert, who just this month received a lifetime achievement award from the Radio Television Digital News Foundation. This is a well-deserved honor to add to his many achievements and awards.
