Hundreds of students on Long Island are making thousands of meals, not only to feed needy families but also to honor a close friend of the school who died while giving back. Counting scoops of rice, vegetable flakes, and soy protein, students at Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School were working together to pack bags of food for people in need.

At Meals From The Heart, we’re constantly looking for ways to better serve our food shelves and families in need. Our meals have always been a popular choice at local food shelves.
In one day, 31 teams from SuperValu and the SuperValu Foundation packed 101,196 meals to help stock local food shelves. But the real story is how much fun they had achieving this amazing total.
